Last year my focus was on making sure each portrait I took had light in the eyes. I remember working at it, looking at people's eyes and finding the angle that would let the catchlights shine. I feel comfortable doing that now and on to the next challenge.
I am working this year to make sure each portrait has beautiful lighting of the face and consistent color or as we say in the photography world white balance. I figure if I post it here you will keep me accountable. So here are a few of my most recent adventures, all in very different light. How am I doing so far?

Love all your wonderful images and the lighting is pretty great! Good job! I'm still focusing on trying to get good focus and proper exposure every time (not that it always happens, work in progress) Your baby is so darn cute! Love her little rolls!
you're such a great photographer! the lighting is perfect! and i am a sucker for catchlights in eyes, too and you obviously have that concept nailed down. i love them all, but the second one down i'm in love with for some reason. LOVE!
AMAZING!!! I love the vibrant colors and textures!
Ok, wow! I just looked again and wow is all I can say. The lighting is really amazing. They all just looks so clear and real. Super excited for you jules.
These pictures are just beautiful! as always...but the color is perfect! Do you custom white balance? Or use the presets? I have been struggling with this lately...
