We are so happy to have our baby finally here and healthy and well. She is so much fun and I am enjoying every second with this little angel. It makes me sad to think this is my last time doing this but as I was waiting for an epidural at 3am on June 4th I am sure there is no way I'm going to be able to do this again!!! It was a LONG night! I went into labor at about 12:30 and my sweet friend Tracy and her daughter came over to sit with my kids. Now this is no small task since we have trained our four year old to snuggle. Tracy was awesome and let her snuggle with her all night long. I'm so grateful for good friends!!! I have serious objections to sharing all the horrible details from that night but suffice it to say I'm really glad it is over. I have never had an all night labor and it was not fun! Grace Emery Freeman arrived at 8:15 on June 4th and they handed her to me all purple and quickly took her away to get her some oxygen and suction out some of the stuff in her lungs. She was a screamer and we all laughed at how loud she was. I loved how she grabbed onto the oxygen bag with her little hand.
We had the most peaceful day with just our baby and all of my nice friends took care of my other 3. I will always remember that day with Matt and treasure the peaceful quietness. So here she is on her first day of life. She has the cutest little dimples and I think she may even have one in her chin. She has some dark hair and a great scream. The nurse took her to be weighed and brought her back with tears and just looked at me and said, "WOW" She definitely has some spunk to her!
I was excited for my kids to meet their new sister and they were so cute. The hospital does a celebration dinner and so I had them bring it while my family was there. We had sparkling cider, steak and salmon all on a fancy spread with a real table cloth. It was a fun night for them to meet their new sister. They were very excited and I loved having us all together. I apologize for the picture but that is what you get when you have been up for days!!
