flattered and freaked

That just about sums up this engagement session. Let's start at the beginning. I met Nikki at my dentists office when I did their staff portraits. (She is nice enough to clean my teeth and let me photograph her :) I met Zach when they came over for a wedding consultation. They are fabulously low key, relaxed, beautiful and high school sweethearts. I thought I got ALL the details, and set the engagement session date.

So we are having a fabulous time at our engagement session and I realize that he is picking really cool spots and great light and I asked if he was a photographer. (You would think he might have divulged that at our wedding consult :) Well it turns out Zach has worked for his brother who is Jon Ball, only one of the biggest photographers here in Boise. He does amazing work and I spit out, "I'm doing these why?" Zach had promised his brother he would not have to do any of his wedding photography. I was freaking out. I told them it was a good thing they didn't tell me until the last 15 minutes of our session because I would have been a mess.

Nikki it's a good thing I could tell Zach is the love of your life and hopefully we captured those moments that reflect that, even if I didn't notice he might have some mad photography skillz!
