I decided I would love to follow my kids around for the week of their birthday. Here is my second daughter, third born in line, little friend of mine.
Day 1
I wish I could be as great as one of my photography friends and take a photo a day for the month of my child's birthday but I have four and I'm trying to make goals like getting dressed everyday so we are taking baby steps.
Here is what I decided, I will follow them for the week of their birthday and take pictures of what they want me to take. One photo for each day of the week. She picked this purple porch with a blue house to go with her favorite 80's shirt. See the pink flamingos picture for the lovely location. She would not stop looking and pointing at their dogs and cats everywhere so I didn't get one of her looking at me but it is her and whatever!
Day 2 - things I love
1) she loves to snuggle
2) she is spunkalicious (we read pinkalicious, purpleicious, and now goldilicious almost every day - in that order)
3) she always wants me to pick out her clothes and then refuses to wear what I pick out only to dump out everything in her room looking for the brightest craziest colorful outfit she can find
4) She loves to wear hats
5) She loves her baby sister and is sooo sweet to her - sometimes smothering her and then saying "too much love" as she backs away
Day 4 was ballet day. She asks everyday, "is it ballet day?" She loves ballet and it so happens that ballet was on her birthday. She couldn't be at a better place for her actual birthday. ( I wasn't that smart to start this 7 days before her birthday so there) LOOOVES IT! I asked her amazing ballet teacher (that you cannot believe has had four kids and still looks like a professional ballerina) if we could shoot a few after class.
Day 5 was out to dinner to celebrate since we didn't do enough of that already. She picked Donnie Mac's Trailer Park Cuisine for her birthday dinner. I think it is the deep fried hot dogs and cheetos that get her excited. They actually do have good food and such a perfect place to take pictures. Trailer Trashy and all!
Day 6 was a tea party with her absolute favorite friend at school. They have birthdays 4 days apart from each other so us Moms decided to have a combined birthday/tea party. When we asked them if they wanted pink and purple or rainbow colors they instantly looked at each other and shouted "RAINBOW" It was the most colorful tea party I have ever been to. They had a book exchange in lieu of presents and had a wonderful day. I loved watching the girls.
Day 7 my parents came for her birthday weekend and it was the highlight of her week. She didn't want to go to school and kept asking to go home while she was there. We are so happy they are home from London and can share some of the fun things with us in our lives. They went back to Utah but I sent them home with a few house flyers from around here. Crossing my fingers they will buy one and move to Boise.
