our cat has been really good for awhile but he has always been rather mean. He will only let you pet him on select occasions. many times our kids have been bitten or scratched and a few of our friends have met our cat's darker side. I'm really sorry if you are one of those unfortunate ones to come away from our house with a scratch.
yesterday we had a house full of kids and when things had settled down i let hobbs in to rest on a bed. one friend was still here and went to pet him. he ended up with 2 little scratches. i was not being very good about giving him sympathy because i was doing laundry and cleaning the house and all of a sudden he says his hand is going numb. i didn't laugh at the time but just made sure he had lots of band-aids and he was fine.
later as we were telling dad what happened someone asked if our cat was venomous. we now have a good laugh at our venomous cat - if the kids didn't love him so much he would have long ago been a country road cat!

I feel the same about my doggie. I think deep down he wants to be nice, and he IS nice to us. But all the cute little kids at the playground who ask if they can pet my dog...it is then that I wish he was one of those happy-go-lucky-tail-wagging-happy-to-see-you sorta doggies. Maybe Beau and Hobbs can be ornery friends together :)
I vote to get rid of him, but that's just me. I'm really who wants a cat that scratches and is venomous!! He He. :)
