Yes this is me, stuck in my kayak upside down in a freezing cold river. I panicked! It is a problem when you are going under and let go of your paddle to plug your nose. I couldn't even attempt a roll without my hands on my paddle and since I tried to plug my nose with my hand I pulled off my nose plugs and got a huge flush up water up my nose. It was so scary and believe me I was getting out of there as fast as I could. Those are the wimpiest waves that took me down too, how embarrassing! I hope you can tell from the following posts who is the photographer and who is the kayaker in our family!

Yikes Julie, I'm panicking for you just looking at the photo. I could never do kayaking! Love all the photos...you're awesome. And you could be a sports photographer.
I'm totally impressed that you even tried! I would have been scared too!
I seriously would drown if I did that, so way to go! I'm sure your hubby loves you for going with him.
