I think this is the record for the all time coldest session I have ever done. It was bitter cold - like 18 degrees cold. It was fast too - but with these kids it didn't matter. I wish for one second my kids could just act like they like each other as much as these three...
I met this little sweetheart at Learning Partners Preschool a few years ago and her Mom remembered me and contacted me to take her kids pictures.
But this 17 year old really impressed me. Completely humble, sweet, and just a good guy. He was so positive about life when I was talking to him. I know he has had his share of ups and downs but his attitude was just positive. He was real but hopeful. And that is why I loved this image.
We did shoot a few in their home so we weren't freezing the entire time. I love to shoot in the home because people are more easy going and relaxed and able to give raw emotion. Their Mom said "definitely not our home" when I suggested we shoot at their house. But I think we made it look just like a studio without all the studioness.
